Our School
Houston Classical Charter School (“Houston Classical”) was chartered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to open in Houston in August 2020, beginning with kindergarten and first grade. The school has an accomplished and committed Board, which includes a founding Board and a Head of School. We are seeking experienced, dedicated, and motivated individuals who are excited about the challenge of being part of a growing school. Houston Classical is founded on the idea that scholars can learn at a high level, notwithstanding their zip code or background.

The Role
The Registrar is a key member of the school team responsible for maintaining accurate student records and supporting the smooth operation of enrollment processes. This individual ensures the school is fully enrolled and compliant with all documentation requirements, manages student records with precision, and supports attendance and ADA tracking. The Registrar also works closely with families and staff to facilitate a seamless enrollment experience and contributes to the overall success and growth of the campus.
Key Responsibilities:
Enrollment & Records Management
- Process new student registrations, transfers, and withdrawals.
- Verify and maintain required student documentation, including ID, proof of residency, immunizations, and transcripts.
- Maintain accurate and confidential student records in the student information system.
- Respond to records requests from parents, other schools, and colleges.
Attendance & ADA Tracking
- Monitor daily attendance data and ensure accuracy in reporting.
- Collaborate with the school receptionist to conduct daily attendance calls to families as needed.
- Manage ADA records to ensure compliance with state funding and reporting requirements.
Academic Support & Scheduling
- Generate transcripts, report cards, and enrollment verification as requested.
- Support class scheduling and student course placement when necessary.
Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with state, and local regulations regarding student records.
- Prepare documentation for audits and funding reports.
- Maintain documentation for special populations.
Systems & Data Management
- Maintain and update the SIS with accurate student information.
- Run regular reports for administrative and state reporting purposes.
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies and coordinate with staff to ensure clean records.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in student registration, records management, or school operations.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of state attendance reporting and ADA processes.
- Familiarity with Ascender student information systems and database management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
